December 17th, 2021 by

When you think of trucks, you probably think of RAM trucks — and it’s no secret why. The ultimate in capability, ruggedness, and convenience, RAM trucks have long been a top choice at Twin Lakes Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM for drivers’ pickup needs.

The 2021 RAM 1500 represents the best RAM has to offer in the half-ton pickup segment. With plenty of best-in-class accolades and countless top-of-the-line features, this truck is a perfect fit for countless drivers. But how does it stack up against the competition? Here’s a comparison of the 2021 RAM 1500 versus the new Ford F-150.

Trim Levels

The 2021 Ford F-150 offers seven trim levels to choose from, whereas the new RAM 1500 has no less than 10 trims to select from, offering a tad more in customization and variety so you can get exactly the features you need. The trim levels for the RAM pickup are as follows:

  • Tradesman
  • Express
  • Lone Star
  • Big Horn
  • SLT
  • Laramie
  • Rebel
  • Longhorn
  • Limited
  • TRX

Engine and Performance

While the F-150 pickup does come with a choice of several different engines that max out at 400 horsepower, each one pairs with a 10-speed automatic. A diesel engine option and hybrid system are also on offer.

The RAM 1500, however, has several engine options (including the EcoDiesel engine), with the most powerful drivetrains maxing out at a whopping 702 horses for the TRX model, far surpassing the capabilities of the Ford F-150. It also offers hybrid powertrains for two different engine options, a V-6 and a V-8.

Fortunately, Twin Lakes Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM has plenty of these fantastic trucks on our lot. If you’re interested in seeing for yourself how the RAM 1500 towers over other pickups in its segment, you can test drive one at our RAM dealership in Monticello, IN.
